How to use the LEMMATA list of CAMENA / MATEO to search for occurrences in CroALa.
Rationale: Project CAMENA offers a valuable neo-Latin resource: the TERMINI - Structured Vocabulary of Early Modern Knowledge database, whose database Lemmata “registers keywords (common and proper nouns) representing all branches of early modern knowledge”. If we search for occurrences of Lemmata terms in CroALa, we can see when and where a certain piece of early modern knowledge turns up in Croatian Latin texts.
Procedure:
The TERMINI database is huge. Its V-Z section alone contains 5086 entries. A simplified list for experimentation (phrases and duplicate entries removed) still has 2512 entries, which take considerable time to query CroALa, even on my local installation of the database.
However, the searches produce 351 positive results, which we publish here and make available for closer study.
Further refinement would include annotating results (marking names, words in other languages etc) and excluding certain documents, or whole periods, from the set (e. g. Flacius, or all 18th c. texts).
