BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1970 in Zagreb. Graduated at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 1994. She received her PhD in 2006 (dissertation title Patron Saints in Croatian Popular Religiosity).
She has worked at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology since 2000, assistant professor since 2007. In 2007 received a grant for a short research visit to the University of Bergen and in 2008 to the Jagiellonian Univeristy in Krakow.
She teaches undergraduate courses at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology since 2001. Assisted at the courses Ethnological Cartography, Religious Ethnology and Ethnographies of Popular Culture. Holds the following undergraduate and graduate courses: Anthropology of Religion, Introduction to Ethnology and Religiosity in Current Sociocultural Processes.
Since 2008 teaches postgraduate courses at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology (Pilgrimage and Pilgrimage Sites, Worship of Saints in Popular Religiosity) and part of the course Ethnological Problems in the Research of Traditional Beliefs and World View. In the period 2004-2009 held courses at the Croaticum Center at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She held guest lectures at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Received a CEEPUS scholarship (Szeged) and participated in bilateral exchange programs at the universities of Ljubljana, Bergen and Krakow.
In the period 2003-2008 she was the member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Studia ethnologica Croatica. She is the executive editor since 2008. Member of the international publishing committee of the journal Cris. Since 2011 member of the governing board of the Croatian Ethnological Society. Since 2012 member of the Board of Ethics of the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology.
Member of the Croatian Ethnological Society, Société internationale d’ethnologie de folklore, Matrix Croatica, Croatian Hagiography Society “Hagiotheca”.
Participated in the scientific-research projects Ruined Traditional Culture of Western Slavonia (2000-2002), Identity and Ethnogenesis of Coastal Bunjevci (2002-2005), Ethnological Database as a Source of Knowledge of Ethnic and National Identities (2006-2007) funded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport. In 2004 participated in the research project Political Places in Change of the Department of Cultural Studies and History of Art, University of Bergen. Since 2006 participates in research in Međugorje within an independent scientific-research project Pilgrimage and the Construction of a Pilgrimage Site.
Her scientific interests encompass a wide range of topics and cultural-anthropological issues in the area of religion and religiosity.
