Opis/ Sadržaj kolegija: Ovaj kolegij je zamišljen kao uvod u žanrovski divergentnu srednjovjekovnu i renesansnu dramsku i kazališnu tradiciju, od anonimne crkvene liturgijske drame iz desetog stoljeća do zlatnog doba engleske renesanse, i to iz perspektive moderne književne historiografije.

Kolegij će pokušati definirati ulogu drame u formiranju građanskog identiteta u Engleskoj, i to proučavanjem arhetipskih likova koji u engleskim dramskim tekstovima od dvanaestog do šesnaestog stoljeća utjelovljuju negativne društvene stereotipe, te njihove uloge u tematiziranju aktualnih društveno--ekonomskih pojava iz perspektive građanske klase.

Ciljevi kolegija: Proučavajući dramsku i kazališnu tradiciju polaznice će uvježbati vještinu tematske analize književnog teksta i steći naviku kontekstualiziranja dramskog teksta i kazališne izvedbe unutar društveno—političkih okolnosti.

Studentske obaveze: Kontinuirana evaluacija. Osim redovitog pohađanja kolegija i aktivnog sudjelovanja u nastavi, studentice i studenti tijekom semestra pišu po jedan seminarski rad (koji i izlažu na satu) te dva kolokvija.
